1. The room was very clean and quaint, and quiet, and our friends with the room on Lombard street also said their room was remarkably quiet, despite the busy street outside.

2. The free parking was a lifesaver (though it is true that the garages are small, they're more than adequate for the average car, and not having to find or pay for street parking makes the three-point turn to get in them more than worth your while!).

6. Lombard Street is one of the main streets through SF but just round the corner is Chestnut street with lovely independent shops and restaurants and you get a real feel that the people are mostly local from the area.
