3. Yes there is noise on Van Ness, but, rooms are nice,staff friendly and cordial,1 block from California Street cable car terminus, and many good local restaurants 1 block away on Polk Street.

China Town is within walking distance, although a better option may be to take the California Street Cable Car line ($6 for a single trip or $14 for a one-day pass covering all local public transport): be warned that if you plan to walk it is exceedingly hilly and will take longer than a map suggests (we walked to China Town at night and it was perfectly safe, although it was dark).

7. I like the rooms, LOVE the location; with Polk street and all the fabulous restaurants on it as well as Whole Foods being right up the street.

8. Parking is real expensive, If you're renting a car there's a parking lot down the street on California and Polk thats about 10-15$ cheaper.

9. ) the room was a fare size nice and clean had all the normal mod cons i found the bed to be comfortable, the bathroom seemed a bit small but again was nice and clean, staff all seemed pleasant enough,didnt use the Restaurant looked a bit expensive if you want a good cheap beakfast go to the 'new village cafe' just around the corner in polk street .

10. It was unfortunate that our friend was threatened by a street person within 10 minutes of arriving at the bus stop outside; that got us off to a bad start.
