1. The neighborhood has a couple of general supply stores within 2 minutes walk, and some nice places to eat within 5 minutes walk.

2. If you like hills you can easily walk up and over to Lombard Street (famous squinty road) and also see great views of Alcatraz at the top too.

5. We have stayed here previously, and knew that this was a decent hotel to use, within walking distance of the usual attractions such as Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf and ferries to Alcatraz, and very reasonably priced for San Francisco.
