1. We love Kimpton hotels in general, as they are beautiful hotels which accept dogs, no problem, no fees or deposits and no big long list of rules to follow.

5. which turned out to be a very bad idea- whilst the staff are polite enough they are not actually very helpful - when my wallet was stolen the guy at the front desk made a couple of calls on my behalf but told me to get a calling card to call my card providers back home and said I wouldn't be charged for calling the 1800 number to use the card, then I was chaged a $1 access fee for every call I made.

6. After years of enjoying this hotel for mini vacations in SF, we suddently were informed of a new 'policy' that leaving before the night (we stay for the day) would incur a $100 EARLY TERMINATION FEE.

7. Upon checkin I got the upgrade for a minimum fee as requested and offered wine (which is the usual 5-6 pm service).
