We love Kimpton hotels in general, as they are beautiful hotels which accept dogs, no problem, no
fee
s or deposits and no big long list of rules to follow.

which turned out to be a very bad idea- whilst the staff are polite enough they are not actually very helpful - when my wallet was stolen the guy at the front desk made a couple of calls on my behalf but told me to get a calling card to call my card providers back home and said I wouldn't be charged for calling the 1800 number to use the card, then I was chaged a $1 access
fee
for every call I made.

After years of enjoying this hotel for mini vacations in SF, we suddently were informed of a new 'policy' that leaving before the night (we stay for the day) would incur a $100 EARLY TERMINATION FEE.
