I've stayed at the Fairmont and boutique hotels
downtown
, and walking anywhere is definitely a chore from those places if you are temporarily or permanently disabled.

Yes, the rooms at the Harbor Court are on the small side, but I have stayed at many different hotels in
downtown
San Francisco, and most tend toward the smaller side if they're in a historical building.

It is away from the touristy Fishermans Wharf area, but we were able to walk just about anywhere in the
downtown
area of San Francisco.

We rented a car and it cost $40 for one night of valet parking at the Harbor Court Hotel- but from what we could tell, that seemed to be the going rate in the
downtown
area.
