4. * Perfect location for downtown, right on the river, five minutes from Lake Michigan and the Navy Pier; the main shopping street (Michigan Avenue - 'the Magnificant Mile') is right there (although I avoided it this trip!)* Excellent service, from the bellhop, the maid, the concierge desk, the shopkeeper - very friendly and accomodating;* Lovely, clean rooms with a fresh and earthy aesthetic like the colors of a river (greys, blues, purples, metallics, whites); relaxing and inviting (not dark and oppressive like some trendy hotels); we stayed on the 26th floor and had a lovely view of the river.

7. Now the location of the Hotel is off of the start of the 'Miracle Mile' so all of the stores on Michigan Ave or Rush street are North of the hotel.

8. There is a little street that connects the hotel with Michigan Ave and sometimes a little Riff Raff hang out there asking if you would like a shoe shine.
