Of course the location - at Lexington and East 57th
street
- is still outstanding, and the staff have remained friendly, if not always competent.

Minus: URGENT need to change the window - mine almost fell into the
street
when I opened it to get some air, so you can imagine that it doesn't shut tight and let in traffic noise.

There was free access to a mid-range sports club down the
street
, which was a decent gym.

The food in the restaurent was also great but there are diners on every

, which is handy.

The hotel is very accessible for Central park{3 blocks}, Bloomingdales{1 block}, CVS{pharmacy/grocery}{2 blocks south}, subway{2 blocks north to 59th
street
, take a sharp right for 4,5,6 routes, weekly metro card is $30}.

The staff were lovely and the location is perfect (5 mins walk from the subway at 59th
street
) Didn't use the restaurant (why would you when you're in New York?!) If you can get a good bargain here I don't think you could do much better.

Lexington is a pretty charmless
street
, but 3d and 2d
Street
s are nearby if you want to be in more of a neighborhood, and it's also within relatively close walking distances to 5th Avenue.

That was a big relief considering we never would have found a parking spot along the
street
otherwise.
