1. And even if you don't want to go to the tourist attractions, the neighborhood around the area is amazing too.

CONS: not a luxury hotel/rooms on the smallish/basic side, not all have AC; A little far away from the downtown core (but very close to great bus lines), Neighborhood a bit on the funky side (we enjoyed it, but not everyone would); No free parking (its expensive); no free wifi (there is in Starbucks); no 'guest amenities' (no pool, no breakfast, etc - just fyi)SUMMARY: It has an 'upscale, hostel type vibe' and it feels a bit off the beaten path.

3. The neighborhood didn't seem sketchy or bad and the hotel had cameras and you had to use your room key to get in the front door after a certain time.

Some great places in the neighborhood are Peso's or Laredo's (both are Mexican restaurants with fun bars), The Great Nabob for a neighborhood bar with good local beer on tap, The Sitting Room for a cozy glass of wine and European-style hors d'oeuvres, and don't forget 2 Seattle institutions for casual dining - Pagliacci's Pizza and Dick's Drive-In hamburgers.

I just spent 3 nights at the Mediterranean Inn while attending an ABA conference downtown at the Hyatt Olive 8 and I'm so glad I decided to go with my gut and pick the smaller, less corporate Mediterranean Inn in the amazing Queen Anne neighborhood (Lower Queen Anne to be exact) rather than spending all my time at the Hyatt downtown.
