1. The hotel offers free internet, which we appreciated, but we could not leave the laptop on with the internet (unattended/unused) for a period of time, without having to re-log onto their internet service.

I don't have a problem with anyone smoking, but when a hotel establishment forbids it anywhere on the property, and people decide to break the rule, it's infringing not only on my (and others') right to a smoke-free hotel stay, it also causes other non-smokers to have to smell and/or breathe the smoke.
