2. It appears freshly painted and both room and bathroom, also on the small side, but with a full tub/shower, are very clean and show absolutely no sign of mildew or odor, as reflected in some previous comments.

9. That being said, if you have no qualms about the room serving as little more than a place for a clean bed and shower despite the smell and want to spend every waking moment either by the pool or on the beach, then I would in fact recommend this hotel.
