2. We parked along the Highway and walked thru a beautiful jungle--just a hundred yards down to Honalua Bay--rocky beach but it's the snorkeling that is tops.

Only a couple of items stops us from giving an excellent rating: Depending on the wind, the traffic noise could be significant due to nearby highway (not enough to keep us awake though) and the niggling issue that there is supposed to be a free Mai Tai night that was promised when we checked in but which was cancelled without warning (it fell on Thanksgiving day).

5. Some of the best snorkeling we found was just steps away from the hotel, sunsets from the beach are fabulous, and there's a nice little farmer's market stand just across the highway.

6. The only drawback was that the balcony was a little noisy at peak traffic times as the building backed fairly close to the main highway.

7. They were either all located near the highway, had views of the maintenance area which was uncomfortable because the workers would look up at the rooms to see the guests which was very creepy and uncomfortable.

9. You can heard the sound of the car because the highway is very near so it is very far away from the quiet place we expect on a island.
