3. They do have a beautiful grassy area on the beach with lawn chairs which is actually really nice if you don't have to be in the sand.

4. Both hotels are very good so, at the end of the day, it really comes down to whether you're looking for an amazing hotel experience or an amazing beach experience.

7. There is a pool for little kids (fantastic with its own sand beach) which didn't interest them much but the bigger pool has a waterfall and never felt crowded.

8. If you can spend a little more $$ consider booking at the Four Seasons or the Fairmount in Waylea as the clientele is more sophisticated and these hotels are very close to Big Beach which is simply fantastic.

There's some other hotels, golf courses, etc. Also about a 10-15 minute walk north along the paved beach path is Whaler's Village, a collection of stores and restaurants that also has a small mall-style food court (McDonalds, Subway, etc.), so if you're looking for a quick, cheaper lunch or to do a bit of shopping check it out.

10. If you walk about 5 minutes north toward the Marriott there is a *huge* beach with lots of space.
