1. We hired a car for 2 days to visit friend in Newport Beach but if you didn't want to drive this hotel gave easy access to all the sites by public transport and the open top tour buses are round the corner.

2. They take you to Rodeo Drive, Farmers Market, Melrose Ave, Universal Studios etc. Also recommended would be a day at Santa Monica/Venice Beaches, which are gorgeous.

5. We took in a musical, "Legally Blond", went to the Planitarium, the Queen Mary, Venus Beach, Chinatown, Little Mexico and more.

6. The beaches are a short drive away as is Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive etc.Park in the shopping center to save the valet charges, it really is no big deal to do.

7. We did private cadillac tour, which took us all over city up into hills and down to Santa Monica/Venice Beach, tho didn't get to spend much time at these places.

10. I would stay here again but if you want a Southen California beach vacation go to Santa Monica or Malibu .
