5. Turns out it is not the city that tows but the hotel itself because they want room for taxi cabs to park in the morning to pick up guests.

6. We negotiated with the very gracious staff of The Helix Hotel next door after all of their guests were in for the night (and they knew they'd have extra spaces), and they allowed us to park there.

7. Although we were able to find an ideal parking space directly in front of the hotel, we were told that if we left the car there it would need to be moved before 7:00 a.m. because towing starts then.
