7. and good shopping- Two blocks from Croissant D'Or, an awesome French patisserie and coffee/espresso restaurant- Our 4th floor room's casement window cranked opened for lots of fresh air and sun- Parklng lot is guarded 24 hrs/day- Funky, European pensione feel with lovely view of residential French Quarter- Ceiling fan- Full kitchenette (which we didn't use)- Quiet room- Comfortable bedDislikes:- Staff is a tad Fellini-esque--lots of different folks, laissez-faire attitude toward guests- Dingy room, dingy bathroom with weak shower, nasty carpet- Old A/C heat units hard to control; no thermostat in room- Didn't even want to have coffee or juice in the pool-side hotel cafe--not appealing at all.

8. This is an old historic building, so expect somewhat dingy decor and dated bathrooms.
