1. The only time I saw anything resembling construction was workers repairing the street.

2. Back to the rooms, I agree with some of the other posters that the room wall are fairly thin, but you can't really hear the airplanes so maybe all the construction went into the outer walls.

5. The sink was built onto a wooden vanity constructed on a base of some unpainted 2X4's, maybe they had just replaced the wood or something, but it looked tacky as heck.
