1. We were on the 29th floor and we had a great view, but at 8 am we started hearing a jackhammer and some major noise from the construction outside, it was actually shaking the walls, and at 11am vacuuming in the hallway, needless to say we didn't get much sleep.

2. Or hey, maybe even rent *only* the upper floor rooms so the noise isn't as bad? Common sense would tell me that most people do not like to start their day with the 5th Symphony in the Key of Elmers-minor.

3. We were awoken VERY early in the morning by the sound of metal crashing, trucks beeping, diesel engines, and other various noises you would expect to hear while a new parking garage FOR Greektown Casino and Hotel was being built.

5. She also was able to get two rooms close to each other for our traveling party and put us up on a high floor so we'd have a better view and be (mostly) insulated from the street noise.

8. The casino is adjoining the hotel so you don't get the noise or the smoke (hotel is smoke-free) which is just fabulous.

9. The hotel is also removed via a skywalk from the casino, so thre isn't any loud 'ding-ding-ding' noises of slot machines or other casino noises in the hotel lobby area or in the rooms.

10. At check out, the desk clerk asked how our stay had been, I told her about the noise and the lights and she looked at me as if I'd lost my mind.
