) The ambulance
noise
definitely requires use of ear plugs at night.

The only down side was the siren
noise
from the ambulance entrance to GW Hospital and a nearby police station.

One important note for light sleepers: while exterior walls were heavier and
noise
from the outside was not too bad, this hotel is just across Washington Circle from GW Hospital's Emergency room entrance, and we did periodically hear sirens.

As you'd expect in the city, there's a fair amount of traffic in the area, and with most rooms having balconies, the sliding doors aren't sound proofed, so the
noise
level can get elevated.
