1. The bar on the lower level was always so crowded we never used it, but the restaurant is among the best in Washington: exceptional food, service, and atmosphere (for some reason it is closed for dinner on Staurdays).

4. After all we think it is a hotel who is profiled to the politics , this is the only reason for his price , no one pay the check the politic do it, so it isnt important how much cost evrything.

7. The bathroom tap came loose twice during out stay, although staff were reasonably prompt it fixing it.

8. I guess high prices are to be expected at a place like this, but at some point you cross the reasonableness threshold into absurd, and this restaurant is not too far away from that line.

The reason is location (across the street from the White House and easy walking to where I need to go), service (it seemed they knew my name before they even met me), comfort (the room is exquisitely decorated and makes me feel like I am home), and one of the best restuarants and bars in the city.

10. If you want to go up on the roof to enjoy the bird`s eye view of the White House and Lafayette Park you must ask the hotel staff to get clearance from the White House for security reasons (not such a difficult thing to do per the hotel staff).
