1. Its like an apartment rather than a suite and the balcony area has great views of Santa Barbara and is big enough to entertain (we had family staying in another room elsewhere in the b&b).

3. I don't quite understand some of the complaints about the hotel on this site, yes the rooms are a little quaint, and ok the bathrooms could do with an upgrade soon, but everything is very clean and comfortable, and works, the rooms were big enough and the bed was lovely and comfortable and cosy.

5. The Penthouse is just the right size and has plenty of luxury touches: wood-burning fireplace, private deck with a peek of ocean, large Jacuzzi tub under a skylight, high-end shower, dimmers on the lights, and a big bed with the most-comfortable sheets I've ever felt.

7. It was also refreshing to stay somewhere that was so personal, had character and was not too big so you felt lost (ie Las Vegas hotels awful for this).

9. But first the good things: it is a 2 minute walk to State Street, it has lovely gardens you can wander through and a wrap around porch that is adorable, the main building has big comfy couches and a fireplace they put on when it gets chilly at night and the staff seemed friendly.
