4. The best aspect of this hotel is the location - you can't get a better location in the heart of Santa Barbara - near all the restaurants for the evening and close enough to the beach to walk to during the day.

9. The less good: we had a first floor room right on busy Haley Street, so we couldn't ever open the curtain; the bathroom was pretty dated; the location isn't ideal - it's not on the best part of State Street and it's not on Cabrillo (the beach).

10. Rooms are well appointed and modern but keep with the historic nature of the Hotel Virginia building the best Western now inhabits.
