1. To celebrate my birthday March 16 (news predicting a terrible cold front), and to brighten the occassion, I invited my husband to join me at the Kona Kai to celebrate my 62nd Birthday.

3. When we finally got our room at 5 pm we resettled into the new room and were offered free breakfast for the next morning which we could not use because of early departure.

7. The Best Western is newly remodeled though, so given identical rates, I would pick the Best Western (and it has tennis courts).

We spent a wonderful week walking the boardwalks and beaches from Imperial to Coronado to OB to PB to La Jolla to Del Mar, and eating in wonderful beach-town restaurants and decided our location was perfect for a new perspective on San Diego and to see how much it has changed over the years and yet is still the same.

9. First up we really resented the new parking restrictions along the road which force you to pay for parking the hotel lot or be towed.
