1. There is a shuttle that will take you places other than the airport or the scheduled zoo trip, those take priority but if they are free they will take you within a certain radius, we used it to go to a popular taco place about 2 miles away and picked back up again, all within a reasonable time, just make sure they have no airport trips scheduled or you will have to wait or take the trolley which is also right there.

The free shuttle turned out to not be so convenient - we needed to head to the airport around 10, which happens to be when they run a shuttle to the zoo, and at 10:30 they were taking a group of senior citizens to their cruise (there seem to be a lot of people staying here for this very reason).
