1. Some reviewers complained about small rooms - wasn't such a problem for us except for two things: the reading chair was a bit in the way and to open the safe door you needed to shift furniture, so the only reason I didn't give it an additional star.

3. For Happy Hour at Currant (which is everyday from 4-7 and then from 9-close) the prices were reasonable and drinks were great.

5. It was quite convenient to the Conference Center, Gaslamp District, Shopping District, and taxis were very reasonable to Old Town, the San Diego Zoo, and the airport.

7. A few reasons that I only give it 3 stars: the rooms are small and european style, the rooms lack a secondary security latch (standard at all hotels now), and the concierge were not the most knowledgable though the were very friendly and tried hard.

8. But I have a feeling the folks who designed the shower stalls decided to keep the shower space open (the glass doesn't fully enclose the shower) for aesthetic reasons and to make the space seem larger.
