5. We splurged on a mixed-drink tasting menu for my husband and a regular entree for me: the food was outstanding and the drinks were creative, delicious and (mercifully) big enough to share.

6. The man at the front desk gave us directions to Old Town San Diego where my partner and I ate the most amazing Mexican meal - and would consider moving to San Diego all the way from Melbourne based on how great that Taco tasted.
