2. The parking is sreet parking, and it can be tricky, but I stay in North Jersey a lot so it was really no big deal, just like home.

Our first impression in the lobby was that is was friendly and comfortable, but a bit on the over-decorated and tacky side (at least for semi-snobs like us who prefer simplistic modern Scandinavian and Asian decor ;)) The staff was wonderful and unobtrusive - the only times we saw employees was when the sweet housekeeping/service ladies brought us breakfast, and when we checked in.

10. In addition, by being on the eastern end of the Hillcrest district, we were close to a vibrant and historic neighborhood with lots of interesting culture, a vibe that appealed to a couple of Portlanders like us, and wonderful restaurants like The Tractor Room.
