1. The hotel is conveniently located, just a couple of blocks from Trimet light rail stops (the Pioneer Courthouse Sq stops seem to be the closest), and also the pod of food carts at SW 9th and Alder (good food there.

3. Because it's an historic downtown hotel, the rooms are not particularly large, but they have been remodeled tastefully, with every modern convenience.

8. While that is a perfectly decent hotel chain, the Heathman was so much more interesting, so much more convenient for my roommate who was not going to the conference, and so much better for dinner options and touring.
