1. I think the use of this alone (taking into account there were 5 of us) made it cheaper to stay at the Hard Rock than staying elsewhere and buying the fast passes seperatly.

Although not cheap the quality made up for that,One of the biggest advantage of staying at the hotel was the use of the room key as a fast track to all the rides, appart from Harry Potter( which if you leave until late on in the day is not much of a problem, or so we found) You can skip the lines all day long.

4. You can get some good deals if you book in advance directly on their website, but the most impressive benefit is the universal express / fast pass and the early park entry that you get by being a resident at Hard Rock hotel.

7. If you want to be close to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and have your room key as a fast track for the rides this is the place to stay.

8. This will get you much quicker on rides and attractions ,wouldnt have like to do Universal without it ie General queue for some rides was an hour,for fast pass it was 5/10mins.

10. Hotel guests can get in early to the Universal Parks which I recommend doing just to get on the Harry Potter ride since fast pass cannot be used on this ride and it's a must.
