1. The fairly spacious rooms were very luxurious: comfortable beds, big-screen TV, plus another TV in the bathroom, robes, chocolates on the pillow, high ceilings, etc.
|
2. Booked a 5 night package through Expedia 9 months ago to go to the Jazz Festival (celebrating my big 40th birthday) leaving for New Orleans on 4/27/12.

3. 99 a day2) Parking is $48 a DAY and this does include in and out, but you really don't want to drive anywhere3) no coffee pot, and for a pot of coffee in room service (which it says is for 8-10 cups) it is $35, however we overcame this by my husband going down to Teddy's in the Lobby and buying two large coffees for $4 which were plenty big enough4) You have very little control over the temperature in the room.

4. The room was very nice- plush double beds, even if the room was not very big (older hotels in Nola generally have small rooms, no matter how luxurious they are).

5. My big complaint was the service.

6. vs including one in the bathroom, the room service as with everything was first class, included in the room are dressing gowns and slippers, a fully stocked mini bar and an empty one for your own use, iron and ironing board, wet bar, double size shower with overhead and wall jets, roll top free standing bath and double wash hand basins the bathroom is about 120 sq ft, as for the rest of the hotel and the services, absolutly top class, helpfull staff who look like they enjoy working, stazarac bar is a good meeting and drinking place if not a bit busy sometimes,in house resturant and italina resturant both very good foor and service, i find it really hard to say anything bad about this hotel and ok if anything it would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room, but with a coffee shop on the ground floor it was not a problem to pop down and get a coffee or two, i dont know if the rooms have coffee machine or not but i guess they expect people using the suites to call for room service, our friend who stayed here for a few night with us had the Rooservelt suite and this is know as the big one, yes it is massive with a grand piano and dinning table and like ours you could not fault it, you will be amazed by the stunning decor of this whole hotel, the swimming pool is heatad with a hot tub at the side of it, pool side bar with food service, plenty of sun bathing chairs and room for you to find a little spot of your own somewere on the terrace,ok its known to rain quite heavy in New Orleans and your room will be supplied with one umberella, if you need another one all you have to do is ask and it will be supplied, if you want to treat some one to a special treat head for the rooservelt hotel.

7. seriosuly,,,, if you can find a major fault with this top, top class hotel, then maybe you should give up traveling, it is in my opinion the best hotel in New Orleans ,it is perfectly located for everything in New Orlean, just across the road from the centre of the french quaters, within easy walking distance of just about everywere shopping, stadium, cruise terminal, mississippi, and so on , we stayed here for 4 nights and were given the nice suprise of one of the Astoria suite, there are only 6 of these suites in the hotel and our one was around 900 sq ft , the whole suite was immaculate but then you would not expect anything less from a hotel of this standard and class, and as thy are on a dedicated corridor very little foot traffic passing by your door, that said the beds so far away you would not hear anything anyway, massive big king size bed that you just do not want to get out of, the whole suite is excellently furnished with 3 t.

8. big snafu on Hiltons part.
|
9. It's also too bad that the Blue Room -- which was historically the hotel's flagship restaurant/lounge, at one time regarded as one of the best 'big band' venues in the world -- now seems to be open only for private functions.

10. This is a grande dame kind of hotel - shiny marble, big chandeliers and history.
