2. My sons room ended up smelling of paint from the renovations, it was coming through the air conditioning and we were offered the opportunity for him to move rooms and they gave us free breakfast on the last day as an apology.

5. Construction waking you up at 7:45 in the morning (never told they were undergoing construction and renovations when reservations were made), water outages for 7 hours and managements fix is a free continental breakfast and bottled water.

NOTE: This is an old building and is currently going through renovations: we were on a floor which was half-closed off due to construction and even had the water turned off from 9a to 5p for two days of our stay, but the hotel offered free bottled water, free breakfast, and a reduced room rate for the trouble.

7. Two final notes: you can access the hotel's WiFi for free if you sign up for the Wyndham By Request Program (free); the hotel is undergoing renovations, so the pool is currently closed and we did hear construction noise from time to time.

9. A few down sides: You have to pay for Wi-Fi, where in a lot of cheaper hotels it is free, although if you sit in the foyer you can pick it up from across the street and you have to pay for the use of a safe.
