2. This is a nice hotel, with quite a snooty attitude - we arrived to one guest having a stand up argument with the front desk, our check in didn't get any better.

3. They were nice about finding me a better room when I asked for one, but Lordy -- why do we always have to go through that tango?Once in a while, I find a hotel that sees a woman on her own, and decides that what I need is some extra pampering, protection, and looking after.

5. When I went back downstairs to ask for a different room, the very helpful front desk woman contacted the manager who invited me to stay in a better laid out room on a non-Executive Level floor.

8. I think the valet parking charge is excessive for Houston ($25); I would say a rate of $15-$18 would make a guest feel better about the valet service.
