1. I've stayed at Hyatt's before in Seattle and new York, have always thought for a mid branch chain, their service has carried on their older classical reputation of being a world class hotel, but their big name is decades gone and the service at this cleveland location shows it.
"Clean room, Absolute Horrible Service, Wont be coming back, has left a permanent bad taste for HYATT PERIOD! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/24/2011 Vote
2. Understandly check-out rooms would be given priority, but a hotel of this size, you would think, might have a better system to accommodate active guests as well as to crank out new rooms for new guests.

3. If you exit the door opposite of the front desk you are right on 4th street with the new restaurants including House of Blues and Lola.

5. I have only stayed on the outskirts of the hotel, which has the feel of new Orleans.

6. The Hyatt Hotel in Cleveland was just a two minute walk from my new York style loft.

7. CONS: Room decor was really 'blah' -- the colors, the old, square furniture (as opposed to 'old world charm' or anything even remotely luxe); lighting in room was not optimal; there was an empty corner where it looked like there should have been a chair; the closet door was so industrial looking that it could have been a fire escape -- I thought, 'really?'; also, the closet door took up too much space when opened and actually blocked the room door; no in-room coffee; the extra blanket looked worn and was out of shape -- should have been retired and replaced; no phone book; there was a power outtage that lasted several hours in the early AM (3am - 7:45am) / no water while power out / peeked out in the hallway and the emergency lighting at the stairs was out / power came on for 10 minutes and went off again, the emergency lighting was now on at the stairs (so seems like the emergency back up doesn't last very long); I could be wrong, but I couldn't find wired Internet access in the room; I liked the 1890 bar but felt like there could be some modernization there -- for example, there were 4 TVs above the bar and from where I sat only one was a new flat panel -- the others were older, big models; the whole 'Arcade' ambiance was pretty but nothing truly impressive -- the shops there were nothing I would patronize (except maybe the manicurist); my room in the tower section overlooked the Arcade and that roof needs some work; cost of taxi from CLE airport on hotel's website says $25 -- it was $33 excluding tip; the worst part of the hotel, I thought, is the whole lobby arrangement -- it is tucked into a corner and then if you have a tower room you have to walk all they way down to the other end of the hotel -- which would have been easier had there been ANY signage along the way.

8. The new online reservation system lets you choose to be upgraded to a better room (for a price) if they have them available when you check in.
