1. We did email ahead to request a renovated room and we got one :) 4 of us were staying in one room with 2 queen beds and we found it really spacious.

Check-in was swift, and although we were disappointed with the first room we were allocated( two single beds rather than queen size, and a little 'tired' looking) we simply went back to reception and were given another room, a little more spacious, less 'tired' looking and with queen size beds, we were happier.
