1. My friend took me back packing all over San Francsico, CA this past weekend and we stayed at the Layne Hotel, it was wonderful.

5. + nice and friendly staff + free maps and tour guides + AVIS rent a car is within 3 min walking distance+ Union sqaure and cable car also within 5 min walking + good for somebody on budget - more like a hostel- shared bathroom - sink in the room was rusty and dirty - beds very soft - TV did not work.

9. After a year away we looked for and found a decent budget hotel, it is not luxurious and if I ever returned to San Fran or had friends visiting on a holiday, I would not recommend it unless they wanted a low price, good location room.
