1. A note for those new to the city, San Francisco is a fairly large city, and there is city noise, you have to expect that.

I called the hotel upon my return to new York and a diagnosis from my doctor and they couldn't have been more unhelpful and insisted I speak to their 'loss management' department who went on to insist that my request for a refund of the nights stayed there and the cost of a subsequent exterminator inspection of my own apartment was unreasonable and I would need to speak with their lawyers.

Our stay was also spoilt a bit as we mistakenly left a bag with shopping and souvenirs in the room on checkout, phoned the same day to query and the bag was gone - although completely our fault due to oversight, this is still theft as it was plainly brand new goods that were left by mistake and this left a bad last impression.
