1. Only downside would be having to carry heavy bags up the stairs to our room (no lift), but would recommend Hotel Boheme and go back there when in SF again.

6. Tel the staff where you're planning to eat out and get a yeah or nay from them, they know everywhere in the city and their recommendations for eating out were the best food we had.

8. We went to a play, Beach Blanket Babelon, that was incredably entertaining and had a great dinner at a great Italian resturant recommended by Stan, who also got us a reservation on a busy Fri nite.
