Yep it's not the place for someone who wants all the modern amenities and frankly be sure to pack light because schlepping heavy luggage up all those stairs is a real drag (though I must say the staff is very happy to assist you with managing it) but it is in a top location, the heart of North Beach with fabulous restaurants & bars within walking distance.

5. I could not praise the staff highly enough, who were always happy to assist and very friendly, and yes, the stairs are steep but we knew this from reading other trip advisors report, and therefore we expected this.
