3. This place is still fairly reasonable for what you get: very large room with a wood-burning fireplace, a decent-sized bathroom with a tub, flat-screen TV, safe, comfortable bed, tranquility, and cleanliness.

5. In regards to the common areas, the lobby area is small but the only reason you go through the lobby is to come & go, speak with the staff or wait for a taxi/shuttle.

8. The cost is unbelievably reasonable for San Francisco and the hotel is right in the middle of Union Square ( just down the hill on Market Street you can catch the cable car, street cars, bus and BART; it's convenient to everything.

9. The reason I have given it four, not five is because I just want to emphasize a couple of points about this hotel given its high ranking:The rooms are small (as in any central city hotel).
