1. Here's the good:- Large rooms, especially for New York but really if you travel a good deal this is a generous room by any standards.

3. Public transport was aplenty although we did not attempt to take any, while taxis generally cost about $9 to $20 from the hotel to most of the touristy spots including Times Square at the height of rush hour traffic.

5. I loved this hotel, and competitive rate permitting, I will stay here on future trips to Manhattan (I have a short list of favorites and generally compare rates before booking).

6. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the general manager who was great when our cases had not arrived with us at the airport .

7. We visited for our third annual Girls' Weekend and while we were generally pleased, we noticed that things had gone down a bit since our last visit.

10. The hotel is located on 34th street, so we came out the door of the hotel, turned left and were able to walk straight down to Macys and that general area in 15 minutes, passing the Empire State Building on our way.
