1. However, the night clerk assured me that I should book a shuttle to the airport instead of a cab because it was cheaper and would only take 15 minutes.

Walking distance to the f-line which will get you to fishermans wharf, if you are in San Francisco a few days we recommend to get a muni pass; much cheaper than single tickets, especially for the trams, the pass lets you get off and on unlimitted, for the duration of your ticket, you can get this in Powell Street.

3. We tried finding cheaper parking in the area, but other garages seemed a bit shady, especially when you can smell alcohol on the attendents breath.

7. We walked to the subway to return to the airport (maybe 6 blocks) without any trouble and was actually easier, cheaper and much more relaxing than a shuttle.
