I scoped out the other resorts along the strip (Marriott Villas - essentially condos without resort services/pools; Disney Aulani - awesome kid-friendly pools/water features but packed and expensive; JW Marriott Ihilani - dated, adult-oriented, seemed to only have 1 pool but a rather cool stingray pond) and was satisfied that we picked the best choice for us.
