Even given a fantastic experience at the NYC Gansevoort during the transit strike two years ago (where they not only gave us a quiet room with a phenomenal bed, they welcomed our pudgy little dog who was clearly above the hotel's pet weight limit) I was skeptical and tried to convince my friends to go elsewhere.
