1. One is on the rooftop, which is a great place to tan and is also beautiful at night when you can see the whole beach lit up.

2. minutes away from the beach, beautiful modern rooms, 24 hour restaurant with delicious food and reasonable prices, free shuttle to the airport, very pleasant and accommodating staff, excellent swimming pool, FREE drinks at the bar for an hour every evening.

4. Though South Beach has a reputation for the young, hip, and beautiful, this mom and her family were treated like royalty rather than rejects, I'd book the Catalina Beach Resort again in a heartbeat.

5. Although this hotel was near the beach and had lovely facilities - swimming pools were beautiful and furniture in bar was funky, we didn't realise that the bar directly below our room was a 24 hr affair and had live music with loud speakers and amps, and that the party crowd stayed til 5am.
