1. The rooms are Texas big, and even though there's new carpeting and a large flat screen TV, there's still a popcorn ceiling, low end plumbing fixtures and absolutely no sound insulation.

3. We looked at 2 adjoining rooms in the 'new' tower section, but this would have been more expensive, and we weren't really that impressed with the new rooms either.

6. And here's why - this place is pretty big and either some of the rooms are new, or just some have been recently updated, our room was an older not-updated room.

8. Very clean, I wouldn't say it is 'dated' because that sounds a little negative but don't want others to get the impression that this is a new hotel.

9. On the flipside, Barton Creek's advertised 'Scenic Guestroom' description of 'upgraded features for the pampered traveler' including 'new furniture' was just simply not the case for the room we occupied.
