4. we were stuck overnight in Charlotte on the way home and had to stay at a Sheraton for $100 and it was luxurious compared to that.

If you are looking for a romantic/luxurious hotel however, or one with that trendy South Beach feel, you would probably be disappointed and be better off paying up to stay at one of those hotels with the big art deco lobbies opening up to the pool and bar area where they serve drinks, play music, etc.
