5. We stayed here for 2 nights in January, and loved the hotel - from the friendly and efficient service at check-in, the always present and helpful valets, the spacious, clean and pleasant room and the delicious breakfast.

My husband had arranged for a rose petal welcome in the bedroom, very romantic :)My only slight disappointment was the pool area, we were out reletively early I guess but all of the mattresses had been left out on the beds and it had rained overnight so although we were given towels we were sitting on very damp beds, the pool could have done with a clean and the area generally looked a little 'un loved'.

8. Our room was supremely clean and we had turn down service each evening however the rooms were not as I imagined them- meaning they didnt quite meet the luxury standards that the lobby or common areas may have suggested.

Before I go into the details of our stay at the Ritz, I really want to know why $100/night hotels offer free parking, free breakfast, free wireless internet access, free business computer access and free local calls while a $455/night hotel like the Ritz charges $30/day for parking, expensive breakfasts, daily charges for wireless internet access, minute-by-minute charges for business computer access and a 99% overcharge on local calls? Now to our stay: the staff at the hotel were excellent, friendly and well trained; our room was excellent and clean; the location was within walking distance of the Cocowalk and a nice selection of restaurants; service was impectable.
