4. The beach in front of the resort is not the best for swimming but there are so many beaches within minutes north or south of the resort, Lydgate for kids and novice snorkeling.

7. I strongly urge you to book somewhere else on Kauai - there are tons of timeshare condos and gorgeous hotels like the Westin, St Regis, several Marriotts, a Holiday Inn, best Western, Sheraton etc.

8. The company did offer another unit to move to in another older complex about 5 miles away closer towards the airport but at that point we had done our best to deal and had unpacked.

10. The best part about Pono Kai is that it's right on the beach along a public walking/biking path with gorgeous views of the shoreline.
