Government travel budgets don't allow for the pricey hotels of the San Diego Harbor and Gaslamp Quarter, but while the 'light industrial' location of this hotel (by the Highway 5 bypass) isn't an area I would wander at night, I found the Holiday Inn Downtown to be an simple, perfectly adequate pleasant surprise.

2. - Parking is pricey and sometimes (for us, most of the time) the access card did not work.
