1. We planned to visit many local attractions and didn't intend on spending too much time in the hotel, so we didn't need all the fancy frills at an expensive resort.

3. Just a few notes on San Diego, you need to hire a car, do not visit Sea World especially if you have been to the one in Florida as its very poor and very expensive to get in.

Basically, if you want to stay in San Diego for more than 3 nights, it is better to go for a good hotel in the downtown (4 stars deals, with a microwave, buy food for breakfast especially if you have children), rent a car for a day or 2 (parking is expensive) and buy a day pass to use public transport.

10. What was also great about the hotel was that it was in the middle of San Diego Zoo and Sea world as we wasnt driving it made it easier to get a cab to each one and it wasnt too expensive.
