1. However, the hotel is extremely dated, shows its age, and has substandard rooms by today's standards.

2. It's a 'charming' hotel --meaning old , dated rooms, lumpy beds, $11/day internet charge (wireless in lobby only), restaurant also passable but not anything special -- a bar setting - tight wooden booths with tables full of name carvings (by undergrads?).

5. You also need to get a key and sign to and fetch a key for the room safe, and agree to a 45 dollar charge if you loose itThe food in the hotel is all from the 'tap room' which claims to date back to the mid 1700s.

8. Three evasive phone calls by their staff later (and so close to the actual travel date that alternate arrangements where not feasible anymore) I finally got the reluctant admission that it was probably vacuous.
